A genus of tropical and subtropical clumping bamboo, usually giant, with numerous branches at a node, one or two much larger than the rest. Sizes may vary depending on habitat and care.
Species:
B. tuldoides ‘Ventricosa Kimmei’: Similar to regular ‘tuldoides’ but has yellow culms with green vertical stripes. Occasional swollen nodes. (‘Kimmei’ is a recent reidentification) Graceful foliage at the tops of arching culms. Good container bamboo and good for bonsai. (H 55’, 2¼”, 21°F) (B. ventricosa ‘kimmei’ = old)
