A close relative of the satin leaf tree, the Caimito has similar attractive leaf coloration. The underside of the green leaf is copper colored making it an outstanding landscape addition. The fruit itself is sweet and refreshing making it a popular fruit in the tropics. When sliced the fruit exhibits a star-like, internal pattern. There are both green and purple fruited varieties.
