Guava fruits can be hard or soft and range in color from white to pink to red. The Asian Guavas are the hard, crunchy, while fleshed fruits. Peruvian White is a white, soft fleshed guava and the Ruby Supreme and Barbie Pink are soft, pink fleshed fruits.
The flesh of the guava is thick and somewhat granular. In taste, it is subacid, juicy and highly aromatic. The seeds are generally consumed with the flesh when eaten fresh.
